Little Mashers Autumn Update13 Oct 2015 by Clare Tomlinson
We always keep meaning to update our blog more frequently and now when writing a list on our updates it seems endless. I will, therefore, keep it short and sweet.
The renovation on our shop and studio was finally completed back in May, with a new storefront and shop attached to our studio.
Our old stockroom had a complete makeover and Andrew designed and built a whole new interior. You can see how fantastic it looks. Recently we have added to the shop by installing a pic n mix section, which includes fab pocket money toys for the kids to buy. There are some great bits n bobs for parties, birthdays etc and the kids love it.
In the last few days Chalk and Tees – our chalkboard T-shirt has been on sale in one of our most favourite places in London, The Tate Modern. We are so excited, I went down there and took a picture of it in the shop. The design they are selling is very apt for the Tate, one of our new designs, the picture frame. You can draw your favourite masterpiece, slogan or words of wisdom onto the large printed frame.
The chalkboard t-shirts were also shortlisted down to three contenders for the NOTHS – Make Awards- Baby and Child product of the year. Alas we didn’t win but we were so happy to get so far out of thousands of products.
Back in July we saw our first order bound for Australia set sail. Adventure Lane are now official distributors of our products within Australia. Hopefully the Aussies will love our products too. We are currently preparing our second shipment as we speak.
This summer was also the first time we exhibited at Playtime Paris. Alongside our standing collection we launched new products, The Chalkboard Placemat as part of our chalkboard product range and our new Ice cream Light(pictured), both of which went down well. It was a heatwave in Paris but it didn’t seem to stop buyers from coming. As well as making great sales and contacts we also got to hang out in Paris with our fellow Brits. Andrew and I also had a bit of child free time to explore Paris and have a bit of fun.
Our screen printing workshops are continuing to grow and are one of our most favorite things to do. Past and future workshops include Walthamstow Garden Party, Forty Hall Farm, Livestock, The Vestry House Museum, The Big Draw. The year hasn’t ended yet and we hope for a successful Xmas season.
We’ll keep you updated(I promise)
